Hong Kong trip – 10 Mar 09

As Disneyland is not open so early, we woke up at around 8 plus and had pork chop buns for breakfast.

I took a shot of Sincere house. The buildings here are relatively old and not painted for a very long time.

Different MTR stations

We took MTR to Lai King and change to Tung Chung line to Sunny Bay and change to Disney line to Disneyland. The Disneyland Resort station itself and Disney line MTR are designed to blend in with the Hong Kong Disneyland to create a resort ambience.

Hong Kong Disneyland is the fifth Disneyland style park in the world. The park consists of four themed lands similar to other Disneyland parks: Main Street, U.S.A., Fantasyland, Adventureland and Tomorrowland.

We took the rafts to Tarzan's Treehouse which is located at the middle of the river. The raft is engine operated so we reached Tarzan's Treehouse within 2min.

Next, we took the jungle river cruise. There are three languages available: Cantonese, Mandarin, and English and each language has a separate queue line. We choose the Mandrain one and waited for about 10min.

The jungle river cruise is much interesting than the rafts to Tarzan's Treehouse. One of the factor is the river cruise is much longer and the other is the cruise guide told us jokes and making the visitors laugh.

This 3-D show is much better than the one I watched at Genting. I can even feel water spraying onto my body and also smell the food during the 3-D show. Waiting for 3-D Mickey's PhilharMagic Show

The space mountain ride is quite exciting and make me a bit giddy. I was concern that my mum can't take it and when I wanted to ask her how she feel, the ride ended.

Autopia is the only ride that I took twice. My mum found it very fun and since we had plenty of time before the Disney Parade, we took the ride twice as there are 2 tracks.

The mainland chinese also left a very bad impression on me as all along I don't hold any prejudice against them. Inside the Disneyland, I encountered them jumping queue and keep pushing people. They don't even seems apologetic at all. How can they be so uncivilised???

We waited until 3pm for the Disney Parade as we had finished touring the Disneyland and we decide to leave after the Disney Parade. Actually after the parade, quite a handful of people also left. No point staying until the closure for the fireworks since we had covered the whole park.

We board the MTR back to Sunny Bay and change to Tung Chung line. We took the MTR to the last station at Hong Kong station and walked for almost 15min to Central J2 exit. There are direction guides to the peak tram terminus station so don't worry about getting lost.

The peak tram is a 1.4km long double reversible funicular railway rising from 28m to 396m above sea level, with a gradient of 4 - 27 degree. The fare is HK$22 ~ S$4.50 for one way and can be paid using optus card.

Victoria peak is the the highest mountain on the island with an altitude of 552 m. Its paranomic view and its termperate climate attracts prominent residents as early as the 19th century. It is an upmarket residential area so those who lives here are wealthy people.

The Peak Tower

We had our dinner at the peak tower while waiting for the sky darkens. Hong Kong Victoria Harbour night scenery is one of the top scenery in the world. It's best to go to the peak in the evening so that you can enjoy the day and night scenery.
