Bangkok & Hua Hin trip – 24 Dec 12

By the time we wake up at 9am, Em is already here to prepare our breakfast. We had a sumptuous breakfast before we walked over to Hua Hin market village.
Yummy breakfast

Hua Hin market village is about 10min walking from The Bee & B. I notice that Hua Hin street signs are beautifully decorated in red colour.

I have make reservation for the shuttle bus service online and payment is make on the day itself. The shuttle service cost THB300 ~ S$12 per pax. It's recommend to book the shuttle service online as few walk in customers were turn away. We browsed the wine products while waiting for the shuttle bus at Hua Hin wine cellar.

A bottle of complimentary mineral water is given to us and a voucher to redeem a glass of grape juice at the Sala.

The shuttle arrives at the market village at 10.45am and picked up 2 passengers at Sofitel en route to Hua Hin vineyard.

The journey from the market village to Hua Hin vineyard takes about an hour and the shuttle bus drop us right outside Sala restaurant.

Sala restaurant was full when we reached and we have to wait for an hour for a table. Hence we decided to walk around vineyard and explore.

After an hour of exploring, we went back to Sala restaurant and our table is ready. We ordered Monsoon Valley tasting set with tapas (THB650), Braised quail stuffed with chestnut (THB350), Grilled rib eye (THB750) and chocoate ice cream (THB160). The food are not cheap but the view here is worth the price. It's nice to pamper ourselves once in a while.

The return shuttle bus departs Hua Hin vineyard at 2pm. We checked out of the Bee & B and took a tuk tuk to the terminal to board minivan back to Bangkok. The journey back to Bangkok took almost 4 hours as the minivan stopped and pick up passengers along the way and we even have to change to another minivan at a point. Furthermore, there is heavy traffic jam on the way to Bangkok. Finally we reached the Victory monument at 8pm and hailed a cab to Budacco. It started to jam after the cab moved for 500m and we have no choice but to alight and switch to BTS.

We left our luggage in the hotel and walked over to Central World where there are BBQ stalls located by the road side after crossing the river. Surprisingly, we saw Singaporeans and Malaysians dining here. We ordered fish and tom yum soup. The BBQ fish is delicious and we can only devoured the flesh as the skin was encrusted with a thick layer of salt. The tom yum soup is one of the worst which we have ever drink. We only ate the ingredients in the soup and drank few mouthful of the soup.

We decided to try our luck to see if massage is available at Ruen Nuad Thai (Add: Address: 42 Thanon Convent off Thanon Silom, Opening hours: 10aam - 10pm). Luckily, there is massage slot available and we had 1 hour body massage (THB350). We even book the same masseur for massage tomorrow afternoon.

We feel so relaxed after the massage and had Xmas gift exchanged back in the hotel.
