KL-Malacca-Muar trip – 6 Oct 14

We walked from the loft to Low Yong Moh for breakfast as it's a 10min walk. Along the way, we saw people taking photo outside this chinese paper cutting handicraft shop and this tradition is getting very rare nowadays.

We also walked past Malaysia 13 States Coffee which is also open by Joe. Actually we have one complimentary drink voucher but we did not use it.

There was queue forming at Low Yong Moh which is directly opposite Masjid Kampung Kling (Add: 32 Jalan Tukang Emas, 75200 Melaka & Opening hours: 5.30am – 1pm (Closed on Tue). Some of us queue up while the others explored the surroundings. The dim sum here is mediocre except the lotus leaf rice, lo mai gai and meat bun. Moreover the staff is not friendly at all.

Those who went to explore bought durian and jack fruit puff from Taste Better (Add: 96,Jalan Hang Jebat, 75200 Melaka & Opening hours: 10am - 10pm). I prefer the jack fruit puff as the durian puff filling is not concentrated enough. Hubby did not follow the slogan "1 bite puff, 1 shot all in" so the filling snooze out and spill on his shirt so better watch out.

We checked out from the loft and head to Baba Charlie Nyonya Cake (Add: 72 Jalan Tengkera Pantai 2C, 75200 Melaka & Opening hours: 10am – 4pm (Closed on Thu). There was long queue forming at the cashier when we reached at 11am. We took a tray and select the kueh which we wanted before queuing for payment. Each kueh only cost RM1 ~ S$0.40 which is really a bargain.

We left Malacca and continue the journey to Muar, our last stop for this trip. We took the trunk road which is faster and reached Muar in an hour.

Otak Otak Cheng Boi (Add: 28-4 Jalan Bantayan Muar Johor & Opening hours: 7.30am - 4pm) is just beside Riverview Hotel so look out for the red prominent building.

According to internet research, Otak Otak Cheng Boi sells the best otak in Muar. For the frozen otak, there is a choice of fish, prawn, squid and fish head. The fish cost RM6 ~ S$2.30 while the rest cost RM6.50 ~ S$2.50. The cashier will wrap the frozen otak with newspaper when making payment. I bought cooler bag along so that the frozen otak can last longer. We also bought ready grilled otak for tasting and each cost RM0.60 ~ S$0.25.

It took us 2hr to reach Johor custom and another 1.5hr to clear the Johor custom. Hope the next road trip wouldn't be far away. =)
